Dubai Customs works diligently as part of the national efforts to contain and curb the outbreak of Covid-19 in fulfillment of the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone living on the Emirati soil.
Innovation Center in Dubai Customs organized a series of online brainstorming sessions which involved different departments and customs centers. This comes in line with the remote working plan implemented at Dubai Customs as one of the precautionary measures to contain and curb the outbreak of Covid-19.
Over 30 days, the sessions involved all customs divisions and saw the active participation of the Director General, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih and members of the higher management who discussed and actively responded to new ideas and suggestions that were put on the table by 267 employees. Clients and suppliers from different counties such as China and S. Korea participated in these sessions and shared some new ideas to help further develop performance and service delivery.
“The brainstorming sessions have discussed 79 customs and trade challenges that rose as a result of the coronavirus outbreak,” said Hussain Al Fardan, Head of Innovation Center “We agreed on 266 new innovative ideas that will help us overcome the challenge. Relevant departments at Dubai Customs are now studying the viability and feasibility of these ideas. The successful ones will be put to test and applied. We work fast in this crisis to ensure optimum performance and safety, help Dubai maintain its position as a global trade hub, and further develop our services for a better and safe trade activity.”
