Oman is one of Dubai’s strategic trade partners. It is the second largest partner among the Gulf states. Dubai external trade with Oman in 2018 grew 28% to make AED 35 billion compared to AED 27.4 billion in 2017. In the first half of 2019, trade with Oman grew 11% to AED 19.2 billion compared to AED 17.3 billion in the first half of 2017.
In the first half of 2019, imports from Oman reached AED 2.6 billion, exports made AED 5.7 billion and re-exports accounted for AED 10.9 billion. In the first 7 months, from January to July 2019, trade grew to AED 22.4 billion, divided into imports with AED 3.1 billion, exports with AED 6.3 billion and re-exports with AED 13 billion.
Iron ore, gold, jewelry, phones, vehicles, computers, petroleum oils and electric cables topped the commodities between Dubai and Oman.
