Director General of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih expressed his pride and happiness that the “Al Munasiq” application has made it to the final round of Hamdan bin Mohammed Program for Smart Government award 2019.
He highlighted that the AI based application can provide clients with the HS Code automatically for any commodity in the world, as well as other essential information such as the description, customs duties and prohibition/restriction status in less than a minute.
“Dubai Customs never ceases to develop customs services and systems within its vision to save clients’ time and effort,” said Musabih. “Following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council which calls for the development of government services to a world class level.
Hussam Juma, Director, Service Innovation Department said the “Al Munsasiq” application is one of its kind in the world.
“This new service was received with 97% satisfaction from our clients. The service is not only for Dubai Customs clients, but also for other customs departments in the country and the GCC. It is compatible with the GCC unified GCC customs tariff.”
The (Al Munasiq) application helps clients avoid any mistakes in their customs declarations due to a wrong entry of the HS Code for goods, and, accordingly, avoid any consequent fines.
