Dubai Customs open new office at the Department of Economic Development

Dubai Customs inaugurated recently a new office for the Customs Registration and Licensing services at the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai. This step comes as parts of Dubai Customs thrive to provide the best services and minimize customers’ time and effort.
The new office will issue the No Objection Letters (NOC) for maritime licenses, their renewals, in addition to the change of activity, change of partners, change of owners and opening of a new branch.
The services will include also modifying the position of clearing and shipping companies and responding to maritime companies’ inquiries.
Ahmed Bin Lahej, Director of the Client Partnership Department at Dubai Customs said: “Our new office at DED managed to attract nearly 30 per cent of the total customs registration and licensing services transactions and this shows the importance of this step.”
“At a later stage, the registration and licensing services will be incorporated into the Department of Economic Development’s services, in order to provide the client the ability to execute the transactions totally through DED. This step will improve the cooperation level between our two Departments.”
The new office is located on the 1st floor of the Dubai Economic Development Department Main building and operates from 07:30 to 13:30 from Sunday to Thursday in accordance with the DED official working hours.
