Since January 2008, Dubai Customs has successfully managed to develop and deploy Mirsal 2; their Customs Declaration Management system which aims to facilitate trade for customers and partners and enable them to clear and process their transactions at any time, 24 x7.This in-house advanced comprehensive system was developed by a dedicated work force of 120 employees, with continual working days totaling more than 270,000 hours. During the process of this continuous work, the system and clients requirements were identified and taken into consideration. A vast amount of Clients` employees have been trained to prepare them for the transition and smooth adoption from Mirsal 1 to Mirsal 2.
As of today, Mirsal 1 Declarations Services for Commercial Clients will be conducted using Mirsal 2, and will no longer be available in Mirsal 1 over the counters, with some exceptions.
Clients are required to register and complete their declarations online with Mirsal 2 except for the following declaration services, where clients can continue to use Mirsal 1 until advised otherwise.
The exceptions for commercial transactions are:
• Locations: Hamriya Port, Dubai Creek, Hatta Border, Dubai Multi Commodities
Centre, Dubai International Airport and General Post Office will remain in Mirsal 1.
• Services: Courier services will remain in Mirsal 1.
• Transactions: All GCC statistical declarations will remain in Mirsal 1.
