Dubai Customs has announced the ground-breaking digital platform, Al-Munasiq 2.0, that is set to redefine the future of customs operations and trade facilitation, has slashed the time needed to classify goods from an entire day to just two seconds, eliminating bureaucracy and enabling instant, intelligent service delivery.

The platform has achieved an 86% adoption rate, outperforming traditional classification tools. It has also attracted global interest, with 117 countries downloading the system. Powered by artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and integration with international supply chain platforms, Al-Munasiq 2.0 significantly outperforms conventional systems and marks a major leap forward in transforming customs processes.

In January 2025, Dubai Customs introduced the Al-Munasiq 2.0 platform, marking a groundbreaking advancement in classifying goods under the Harmonized System (HS) Code. Powered by advanced artificial intelligence, the platform delivers highly accurate predictions that streamline customs procedures. This next-generation service translates into faster clearance times, fewer errors, and stronger compliance across all levels. The system also provides comprehensive details on each commodity, including its description, applicable customs duty rate, and any prohibition or restriction status.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, said: “This innovative digital platform represents not only a technological development, but a complete redesign of the customs system which is relying on the next generation of modern artificial intelligence technologies. Our vision is clear: to lead the digital transformation in customs work to achieve speed, efficiency, and compliance. Our strategy aims to consolidate Dubai's position on global competitiveness indicators and enhance its leading position in global trade, to achieve the objectives of its economic agenda. This is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to increase the value of Dubai's foreign trade and position it among the top three economic cities in the world."

Juma Al Ghaith, Advisor to the Director General and Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Customs, said: “Al-Munasiq 2.0 system was designed with an AI-based approach, leveraging the human element of experts responsible for operations to provide reliable suggestions. This ensures efficiency, flexibility, and continuous learning, which are essential features of how AI is applied in the public sector. This service not only reduces costs for companies and government entities, but also supports smarter business operations by improving data quality, reducing violations, and accelerating decision-making. Customs employees and traders alike benefit from real-time, fast, and reliable recommendations, which enhance operations and revenues."

The platform is compatible with all smart devices and is available through various app stores, in addition to a responsive web version for mobile phones, ensuring seamless access for users around the world. The homepage was designed to automatically guide users to select the HS code with ease and without any complications. Since its launch at the beginning of this year until the end of last June, the application has been downloaded more than 9,000 times in 117 countries and has completed more than 56,000 requests for goods classification.
