Dubai Customs to launch 14 CSR initiatives in Ramadan

Dubai Customs is launching its annual Ramadan campaign (Blessed Days) for the second year in a raw celebrating the Holy Month. There will be 14 social initiatives that target different segments of society, including the Department’s employees, with the aim of consolidating values of solidarity, volunteerism and teamwork. 


This year’s activities vary, including charitable, community, awareness and sports events, and will cover various CSR areas that Dubai Customs is committed to, including supporting families in need, the elderly, and laborers. 



“We are launching our annual campaign that consolidates UAE’s inherent values of giving and selflessness and as part of our commitment towards our community, “said Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department. “Dubai Customs has become a benchmark for best parties in CSR, and our last year’s campaign targeted around 12,000 people. For this Ramadan, we will have five awareness workshops and a number of religious and health lectures. Other initiatives include the “Ramadan Mir (Providence)”, through which 1,000 food parcels will be distributed to needy families, and 6,000 Iftar meals will be distributed to laborers through the Holy Month(200 meals a day). At the end of the month, gifts will be given to orphans in coordination with official charities in the UAE.”

Other activities include a Ramadan daily contest, which will be accessible on the corporate website, as well as a chess tournament and exclusive discounts and offers for the employees.
