Dubai Customs launches Pioneer Customs Award to celebrate creativity, embrace excellence

Celebrating innovation and excellence within the workplace, Dubai Customs’ Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department launched the Pioneer Customs Award under the auspices of H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and the presence of executive directors, heads of customs departments and centers, and employees.

The award would encourage the employees contribute further in a safer global customs and come up with proactive services. It is an opportunity for all Dubai Customs employees to invest their talents and smart skills to come up with disruptive products and services. Similar awards including Al Thurayya Award, which honoured 42 female employees in the last two editions, and Al Furdah Falcon Award, which honoured 36 employees, have been launched to embrace creativity and celebrate excellence.

In his speech during the launch ceremony, H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation said; 

“We keep abreast with the updated standards approved by the Dubai Government Excellence program to encourage creativity in government workplace and to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. “Dubai Customs has launched a number of initiatives and awards to embrace excellence and instil creativity as a daily practice to enhance its leading role in facilitating global trade and securing the borders. 

The Pioneer Customs Award aims at boosting positive competitiveness within the workplace, which will help us proceed to more excellence and achievement in the government excellence journey. Our latest awards including the Elite Award, which we won in the Dubai Government Excellence program 2020-2021, the Best EXPO Supporting Entity 2020 Award, and Best Distinguished Government Entity 2016 are a reflection of these dedicated efforts.” 

On her part, Shamsa Al Raisi, Acting Senior Manager of Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department at Dubai Customs said; “The standards of the Pioneer Customs Award are in line with the requirements of the Dubai Government Excellence program, which aims at enhancing positive competitive spirit between employees and departments to raise the standards and achieve more at less time and cost.” 

Al Raisi pointed out the award’s categories are in line with the Dubai Customs’ 2021-2026 strategy. There are 13 categories in four areas, which are administrative leadership, medals of excellence, corporate leadership and special honoring.
