The Customs Leadership Development Center at Dubai Customs organized the Customs Leadership Development opening workshop for the 6th batch of the program in cooperation with the University of Dubai. The workshop targeted inspection managers, and took place in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Busnad, Executive Director of Customs Inspection Division, Mohammed Al Ghaffari, Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division and inspection managers.
The 6-month customs leadership program is one of the main projects that the Customs Leadership Development Center adopts to enhance the competences and skills of customs future leaders.
“It is a unique program that will help qualify national cadres to lead the journey of development and achieve the organization’s strategic goals,” said Dr. Abdullah Busnad, Executive Director of Customs Inspection Division. “The program in its sixth batch mixes theory with practice, and focuses on three main aspects: innovation, digitalization and agility.
Building up a new generation of leaders in inspection is a priority for us, which helps to sustain development in customs sector and enhance Dubai Customs’ leading role in securing the borders and facilitating trade to fulfil the UAE bold plans including the UAE Centennial Plan 2071.”
Busnad called on the participants in the program to engage actively in all the practical activities in the workshop to gain the most from it.
In the same line, Mohammed Al Ghaffari, Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division said; “Dubai Customs, as part of its strategic plan, looks forward to build a creative human cadre who are highly knowledgeable, and can easily deal with modern tools and adapt to fast changes. This program will help us achieve the organization’s 5-year plan, which aims to enhance employee’s competency and increase stakeholders’ happiness.”
To date, the program has graduated 137 employees in its five previous editions. Training focused on different work aspects.
At the end of the opening workshop, the University of Dubai team delivered a presentation on the areas the program will cover, which include individual coaching, practical application, awareness and enhancing performance.
