Dubai Customs launches Ramadan initiatives, themed (Ramadan; Blessed Days)

As part of their social responsibility and commitments, Dubai Customs launched its Ramadan annual campaign 2021 under the theme: Ramadan, Blessed Days. It consists of eight major social and charity initiatives that target different segments including employees, the elderly, needy families and labourers. 

The Government Department prepared a number of initiatives to show their commitment toward the society, and these include religious and awareness lectures, and charity campaigns in coordination with societies and charities in the UAE. 

These initiatives include the “Ramadan Mir (Providence)”, which will see members of Ghayath Volunteer Team distribute gifts to orphans. There will also be a contest on Dubai Customs’ Instagram, Jimruq (customs) program on Al Oula Radio, and Iftar meals for senior citizens. 

Another initiative will target 1,000 needy families in the UAE in cooperation with Tarahum Charity Foundation. Ghayath Volunteer Team will distribute food baskets and bags to these families.

Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department said:” The Late Sheikh Zayed is a symbol of love, generosity and tolerance. The legacy he left behind is great. We are proud to instil this spirit of giving within our workplace and to make giving and sharing a daily practice.” 

Bin Gharib stated that Dubai Customs succeeded in building a sustainable CSR model and managed to overcome the challenges posed by the spread of the pandemic. 

In 2020, the Government Department carried out 140 social and charity initiatives that targeted 63,000 individuals of different age and social categories.
