Dubai Customs wins 9 awards at IdeasAmerica 2018

Dubai Customs won nine awards at IdeasAmerica 2018 which annually recognizes the best ideas submitted from employees of its organizational members. Four golden, two silver, one bronze and two honorable mention awards have put Dubai Customs on top of all government and private organizations in IdeasAmerica’s this year’s edition.

Thanks to the incessant efforts of Dubai Customs in encouraging innovation, and the friendly, innovative work environment, Dubai Customs managed to bag that big number of accolades, which is the biggest to get in one single edition since its first participation in the Award in 2010.
 
The awards won by Dubai Customs were:
 

- Falcon SDS (World's First Customs Smart Detection System) – Gold Award - Rashid bin Harb
- X-Patrol (Middle East's First Customs Patrol Vehicle) - Gold Award - Saeed Al Katbi
- Best Program Administrator of the year – Gold Award - Adel Al Bastaki
- Advocate of the year – Gold Award - Khalid Al Zarouni.
- Champion of the year – Silver – Hussain Al Fardan
- The Advisor (World's First Customs Training and Explosives Suitcase) – Silver Award – Mohammed Al Khinjari
- The Advisor (World's First Customs Training and Explosives Suitcase) – Silver Award –
- Evaluator of the Year – Bronze Award – Nashwan Saeed
- Executive Leadership of the year – Honorable Mention Award – Director of Technical Support Department
- Smart Parking Assistant (Middle East's First) – Honorable Mention Award – Anwar Abdul Rahim & Mostapha Mohammed.
Winning these 9 awards raised the total number of awards won by Dubai Customs at IdeasAmerica to 37 awards since its first participation in 2010.

Commenting on this achievement, Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation said:” We have worked hard to ensure innovation is a priority at PCFC following the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. On his turn, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs said: “Dubai Customs is turning innovation into a daily practice. Innovation doesn’t need to come in the form of accelerators, incubators, or labs—it can be fostered internally and rapidly through any and all employees. Our employees are our most precious asset and we turn their ideas into practical applications that can serve customs work within our mission of facilitating legitimate trade”.

 

 


Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department at Dubai Customs pointed out that Dubai Customs spares no effort in promoting innovation through organization and participation in different workshops and events that involve international experts.
“Realizing the goals of Dubai 10X initiative is a priority for us” Kazim said.
Hussain Al Fardan, Head of Innovation Center said: “The achievement is the outcome of incessant efforts in tracking, nurturing and developing employees’ ideas. We regularly apply to these awards and receive the best possible support from our higher management and the director of Dubai Customs”.
