
Hosam Juma Mohammed shares working paper presentation about Dubai Customs
Dubai Customs participated in the 17th GCC’s e-Government and e-Services Conference which took place in Burj Al Arab Hotel. The event was organized by DATAMTX and attended by a number of heads of e-government and IT projects from GCC’s government departments, international organizations and IT companies.
In the conference, Dubai Customs featured a working paper on the concept of “ Dubai Customs Integral Enterprise Networking” which mainly targets and interlinks data of information to facilitate policy-making, improvement of business at the level of corporation and providing a platform for closer cooperation amongst managers and supervisors while taking necessary analysis actions for coordinated strategic policy making, identifying outcomes and then drafting out actionable plans.
Mr. Hosam Juma Mohamed, Head of Business Enterprise Architecture Section who presented the working paper, explained that :” the Enterprise Architecture serves in fostering a discipline of coordination between business and technology, enhancing capabilities for assessing changes and the impacts of these changes on each of the enterprise architecture components at the time transforming from the current status of services and employees to the upcoming status; this is in addition to its role in defining how information and technology will support the business operations and focus the creativity in areas that need innovation and transformation.
It is highly important to define a clear architecture vision, support top management, provide qualified human resources, operations, tools, reviews and continued improvement to overcome difficulties and then uplift with performance, Mr Juma explained.
Dubai Customs had received the Enterprise Architecture Excellence Award from the Open Group Arabia during the annual regional MENA meeting which was hosted in Abu Dhabi for successfully launching the pioneering enterprise architecture practice’s overall performance over 3 years of hard work which came as a result of continued efforts by a high expert organizational development team who managed to timely deliver the project as according to the global professional standards.
It is worth mentioning that Dubai Customs is the first leading government department in the region at the level of Arabian countries which adopted implementation and operation of enterprise architecture project and via this industry implementation Dubai Customs enabled interoperability and integrated vision, mission and objectives with all organizational units, services, business process and information technology system
