Dubai Customs’ Gayyath Volunteer Team honors partners and sponsors

​The Gayyath Volunteer Team of Dubai Customs has honored strategic partners, sponsors, departments and volunteers that took part in the voluntary campaigns and initiatives organized by the organization during last Ramadan.
As many as 11 voluntary initiatives bringing together 110 volunteers from the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) were staged during the holy month. 
In support of the "Year of Giving" being marked in 2017 across the nation, the Ghayyath team launched 28 initiatives since the beginning of this year. Their topics ranged from care for people of determination, charity, awareness and training, health and safety to green initiatives, sports, energy conservation, culture and national identity.
The honoring ceremony featured an introductory video about all the initiatives contributed by the team during Ramadan, most notably The Ramadan Ration,  Tent of Giving, Kindness to Parents, Eid Charity, Ghayyath Eideyah, With You in the Month of Giving, Your Health in this World, Table of Giving, Happiness Day, Zad Al Khair, and Al Furdha Givers.
Fuad Al Shehhi, head of the Ghayath Volunteer Team, said that love of giving is firmly rooted in the Emirati society, which has grown up to lend a helping hand and provide assistance to the needy. He pointed out that volunteering has become one of the main pillars for community progress and prosperity. It is also an essential driving force that promotes CSR culture and community service among members of society. 
He announced the team will soon be launching new initiatives that serve volunteerism and promote the values of giving in the country. “The Year of Giving is a golden opportunity to highlight our community role here in the UAE and abroad, as well as to further encourage giving as a daily human practice and a way of life,” added Al Shehhi.
The partners and sponsors honored during the ceremony are the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Dubai Police, DP World, Emirates Macaroni Factory, Bait Al Khair Association, Dubai Charity Association, United Foods, Al Bayan Newspaper, Mai Dubai, Sayidaty Magazine, Al Jawarih Restaurant, Katria, and Al Barari Group. Also among those recognized were participating volunteers and customs departments that supported the Ghayyath’s core mission.
