Dubai Customs launches its Ramadan program of activities themed “Our Gathering is Different in the Blessed Month”

On the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, Dubai Customs has announced a special program of events to mark the occasion in a different way in light of the Year of Giving launched by the UAE leadership.
Under the theme, ‘Our Gathering is Different in the Blessed Month’, the Dubai Customs’ program of activities specially designed for this Ramadan aims to bring together both employees and the community.
The agenda includes the annual Ramadan Suhoor gathering of all employees and management of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation on June 12 at Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Dubai World Trade Center. The Suhoor hosts a religious lecture by Sulaiman Al Jubailan and a motivational lecture by world champion of public speaking Mohammed Qahtani, besides side cultural contests an entertainment.  
The Ramadan program also brings DC employees 25% discount on different types of dates offered by famous brands at DC headquarters.
Other activities on the agenda for this Ramadan include a “Ramadan Rations” CSR initiative which consists in distributing baskets of essential Ramadan foodstuffs to 300 poor households in Dubai in cooperation with Beit Al Khair Society.
Iftar meals will also be distributed to motorists at Dubai’s main traffic junctions in an attempt to improve road safety during Ramadan. This initiative will be conducted weekly in association with Dubai Police .    
Moreover, Dubai Customs’ Ghayyath volunteer team is planning a mass iftar for the elderly at Family Gathering Centre in Al Mamzar, Dubai, to share with them the joy of iftar after a day of fasting. The initiative aims to promote the importance of caring for parents and older people among the community members. In cooperation with Dubai Community Development Authority, Eid gifts will be presented to 100 seniors. 
The Customs Training Centre will be staging many workshops and lectures about the virtues of Ramadan and how to get the most of it to live a healthy, secure and happy life.
Dubai Customs’ program of events to mark Ramadan is set to engage internal community and the public together and share the pleasure and blessings of Ramadan with all members of society, especially the underprivileged.
