
Dubai Customs celebrated today Monday 5th December the International Volunteer Day under the theme “supporting volunteers and thanking them”. The event aimed at supporting the Department’s 50 volunteers who always take part in voluntary and humanitarian work.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs received the volunteers and thanked them for their efforts in helping others and giving back to the community.
Commenting on the event, Khalil Saqr, Director of Corporate Communication Department said:” Volunteering is one of the Arabic inherent values that the Emirati people and the staff at our Department gained. Having a number of volunteers in the Department reflects this positive message. These volunteers do their best to support events, seminars, and national and sports events that take place in the UAE, plus their efforts in the humanitarian side”.
“The volunteer team which was formed recently works towards achieving Dubai Customs’ vision in this field through promoting the values of giving and selflessness. Dubai Customs is always keen to invest the time and effort to lend a helping hand to society, guided by the directives and strategies of the UAE’s wise leadership” he added.
The Department’s volunteers participated in different events, which relate to the environment such as participating in the World Environment Day and cleaning Dubai Creek, and religious occasions such as distributing iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan.
