Dubai Customs has once again proved to be a regional leader in ideas management and innovation, adding yet a new milestone to its matchless record of achievements in this field.
Dubai Quality Group (DQG) has elected Dubai Customs’ Innovation Center senior manager Hussain Al Fardan as chair of its affiliated Ideas Arabia and Ideas Emirates subgroups for the coming four years.
This big achievement is an expression of Dubai Customs’ longstanding partnership with global ideas organizations, as Mr. Al Fardan was only a few months ago granted board membership of the prestigious Ideas UK as the first Arab and Emirati member to join the association since its establishment in 1987.
Hussain Al Fardan was very satisfied at the appointment. He thanked Dubai Quality Group for trusting him with the new responsibility as chair of Ideas Arabia and Ideas Emirates subgroups.
“I will commit myself to promoting national efforts aimed at engendering innovation and creativity through finding effective solutions to many existing challenges,” said Al Fardan.
The Dubai Quality Group, a self-financing, non-profit organisation established in 1994 by the Dubai Department of Economic Development, aims to develop and promote Quality and Business Excellence practices in the UAE. In 2015, DQG set new benchmarks in innovation and creativity for the upcoming years.
In line with the Dubai government's vision to transform the emirate into a global centre for innovation, DQG has taken a pragmatic approach to foster a culture of innovation and enhance competitiveness of the business community.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time a member of Dubai Customs gets the confidence of Dubai Quality Group in such high-level, innovation-oriented roles within the organization. In 2012, DC’s Executive Director of Community Affairs and Government Relations Division was picked by DQG as chair of Ideas Arabia subgroup.
