HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, honoured Dubai Customs, as it was voted the best government department in terms of customer happiness. Scoring as high as 94.9% was sufficient for Dubai Customs to top a list of 38 government entities engaged in the Happiness Meter initiative.

Offering three choices to assess customers’ level of satisfaction — a smiling face, a straight face and a sad face, the Happiness Meter initiative monitors customer satisfaction with government departments and daily measures the public’s happiness with their services.
On behalf of Dubai Customs, Sheikh Mohammed awarded Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai Customs Director.
Sheikh Mohammed approved the results of the happiness index yesterday (Saturday May 28th, 2016) during a meeting with a number of local government department heads in Dubai.

As per a report released by the Smart Dubai initiative, Dubai Customs outclassed other  government departments in the customer happiness survey, as 118,000 happy customers responded to the survey that was conducted on DC website and service centres.

Commenting on this new achievement, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said, “HH Sheikh Mohammed taught us that the best way to be happy is by making others happy. We at Dubai Customs learned this lesson well and are making every effort to reduce Customs formalities and cut down transaction cost and delivery time, which makes customers even happier.
“Attaining first place in this year’s Happiness Meter survey is yet another honour for Dubai Customs and is certainly a testimony to its longstanding commitment to excellence,” added bin Sulayem.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, on his turn, said, “First place has always been our goal. Being fully dedicated to following Sheikh Mohammed’s forward-looking vision in terms of increasing government customers happiness, Dubai Customs has set a core goal as part of its strategic plan that targets the happiness of all stakeholders dealing with Customs.”
