
H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Chairman of Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), headed the inauguration ceremony of the Maersk Training centre headquartered in Dubai World Central. H.E. Bin Sulayem cut the ribbon for the official launch of the first-of-its-kind training centre in the Middle East, one of the leading initiatives of Maersk Training, a subsidiary of Denmark-based Maersk Group and a leading provider of training and educational services for the energy and maritime industries.
The new centre was launched in the presence of high-profile maritime personalities, experts and pioneers form the UAE and MENA region who toured the facility and were briefed on the advanced technology adopted in its classrooms.
H.E. Bin Sulayem said: “The Maersk Training centre is of great significance as it supports national efforts towards developing maritime human resources and equipping a generation of professionals with the knowledge and skills to achieve excellence and leadership while promoting Dubai as a global maritime hub. Launching such a world-class training centre reflects the emirate’s unique competitive potentials which are paving the way for its emergence as one of the leading maritime capitals of the world.”

Maersk Training has designed an ideal platform for providing oil and gas and marine services companies in the Middle East and Africa access to a wide range of training courses. It will develop skills and set new standards that are more comprehensive, accurate and effective in order to enhance the safety and operational performance of the regional maritime sector. The centre will offer various educational programs, specialized certifications and professional development programs based on advanced training simulation methods that meet the different needs and requirements of its target audience which includes companies, government entities, and individuals.
