Consort of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum sponsors “Danat Dubai”, 3rd women mass wedding of government departments

November 24, 2014

Primary preparations for the 3rd mass wedding for government departments women staff, “Danat Dubai”, are underway. Dubai Customs is leading the preparations for this much-anticipated event with the help of other government departments.
The ceremony will be held under the auspices of the consort of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Her Highness Shaikha Rawda bint Ahmed bin Jumma Al Maktoum.
A joint government committee was devised to oversee and execute the function with the blessings of Her Highness Shaikha Rawda bint Ahmed bin Jumma Al Maktoum.
For the third time, the organising committee is headed by Dubai Customs and brings together Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Health Authority, Road and Transport Authority and Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, as members.
Hosting a joint mass wedding among government departments in Dubai promotes community partnership and ensures equal opportunities to young men and women wishing to get married. Her Highness Shaikha Rawda has decided that, as is the case with men mass weddings, women collective marriages will expand to include female employees and wives of male employees from local and federal government agencies in all seven emirates.
Her Highness Shaikha Rawda hailed Dubai Customs’ initiative in organising the ceremony for the third time, out of its profound belief in anchoring cohesion and the concept of solidarity among the UAE people who seek to build descent and stable families, being the pillars that support the UAE’s prosperous journey.
In preparation for the 3rd women mass wedding, to be held in March 2015, the organising committee has set forth an operating plan and hosted preliminary meetings to determine general requirements of participation and to discuss the function’s action plan, in a bid to make the 3rd women mass wedding a resounding success.
