Dubai Customs is set to participate in UAE CAREER 2013 scheduled to take place from 30 April to 2 May 2013 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai .
Ms. Nadia Abdullah Kamali, (Acting) Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division, at Dubai Customs said that Dubai Customs is keen to take part annually in this important event to allow national youth students and graduates to learn about vacancies within Dubai Customs and to join them in a way that would fit their qualifications.
“The objective of participating in such event paces with our wise leadership`s visions and directives towards caring for creating employment opportunities for UAE nationals including “ABSHER” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE aiming at providing more than 20 thousand jobs for nationals in public and private sectors within 5 years, and the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai declaring 2013 as a year of Emiratization in which efforts would be made to launch set of initiatives and policies treating Emiratization as a national priority at all levels”, added Ms. Kamali.
Ms. Kamali underlined that Dubai Customs pays greater attention towards Emiratization within its strategic plan , which contains an important perspective for utilizing and attracting human resources – being our real capital in UAE that make wealth and create actual development.
“Dubai Customs` strategy in this respect contains attraction of national cadres to different customs business specializations particularly in the area of inspection together with setting annual training plans for such competencies in order to promote their performance and raising the standard of work in such a way that would contribute to achieving Dubai customs strategic objective as whole that is to enhance Dubai Customs` image as an international trade hub and a trade portal linking between east and west as well as the other strategic objective relating to the protection of the society and the country from dangers of bids to smuggle prohibited and restricted products’, said Ms. Kamali.
Dubai Customs Stand within UAE CAREER Fair 2013 will be located in Hall No. 7 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of Dubai Government Human Resources Department Stand where Human Resources officials and staff would be available to introduce different areas of work that may fit students and graduates particularly in the inspection field in which Emiratization represents 100% and whose employees constitute 47% of Customs manpower.
“Dubai Customs` expansion in establishing land, sea and air customs centres requires attraction of more national youths to work in such vital area that plays a key role in protection,’’ she pointed out.
“Dubai Customs is currently working on increasing Emiratization percentage through taking part in such fairs at which job seekers of national cadres are met, receiving and studying their CVs and attracting them according to the available vacancies within Dubai Customs including interviews with them during the fair activities in order to identify their capabilities of filling the available vacancies,” she said.
During the UAE CAREER FAIR 2013 Dubai Customs will present the training programmes it provides to its employees such as new employees orientation programme, general qualification and competency improvement courses, specialized courses, scholarships programmes to earn specialized degrees and other programmes and incentives through which Dubai Customs seeks to attract competent nationals.
