Dubai Customs Week's Ninth Edition Launches 30 Diverse Events under the Banner of Digital Empowerment: Forging Impactful Partnerships
A Dynamic Week of Innovation and Collaboration as Dubai Customs Showcases a Multifaceted Program
The ninth edition of Dubai Customs Week is set to commence from January 22 to 26, with the theme " Digital Empowerment: Forging Impactful Partnerships." This annual event, organized by Dubai Customs for the ninth consecutive year, celebrates International Customs Day on January 26. The primary objectives of the week's activities include strengthening partnerships, supporting the digital transformation of customs services, and raising awareness about the crucial role of customs work in achieving sustainable development and community protection.
Throughout the week, the emirate’s oldest government department plans to host 30 diverse events in collaboration with various entities such as the World Customs Organization, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, local customs directors, the Dubai Council for Ports Security, Dubai Free Zone Authorities, Dubai Airports Corporation, and technology experts. The pinnacle of the week will be the "International Customs Day Forum" on January 26, featuring a special address by Mr. Ian Saunders, the Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization. Additionally, there will be an extensive panel discussion on "The Future of Customs and the Use of Artificial Intelligence."
The events also encompass the organization of the Dubai Customs Media Forum, aiming to underscore the media's pivotal role as a partner in achieving sustainable development across various sectors.
H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, emphasized that the organization of the ninth Dubai Customs Week underscores the department's leadership in adapting to global developments in the customs sector. The week's activities align with the World Customs Organization's vision of "Meaningful and Effective Partnerships with Customs Partners." He reiterated Dubai Customs' commitment to involving federal and local customs authorities in key events to foster cooperation for maximizing the customs sector's role in the UAE.
Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department and head of the organizing committee for Dubai Customs Week, highlighted the significant momentum of the ninth edition. The committee is dedicated to ensuring that the events achieve their intended outcomes by engaging strategic partners, clients, customs authorities, business sectors, and the community in various activities organized by the department across Dubai. Special events have been tailored for Dubai Customs partners and relevant entities, aligning with the theme of this year's World Customs Organization.
