Dubai Customs Receives Certification as an Innovative Government Entity from GINI

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih underscores Dubai Customs' journey, portraying a remarkable path of excellence and leadership 






Dubai Customs has achieved a remarkable milestone on the global stage by securing the Certified Innovative Government Organization - Excellence Level accreditation from the prestigious Global Innovation Institute (GInI) based in the United States for 2023. This momentous recognition positions Dubai Customs as the inaugural government entity in the emirate of Dubai and the first customs organization worldwide to be bestowed with this esteemed certificate, attaining the highest scores possible. The certificate, widely regarded as the pinnacle of innovation by the Global Innovation Institute, holds immense significance due to its comprehensive framework encompassing the fundamentals, standards, capabilities, models, and methods across all facets of institutional innovation.

Undergoing a rigorous assessment conducted by experts from the Global Innovation Institute, Dubai Customs was scrutinized across key standards, including strategic principles, fundamental procedures, financial aspects, capabilities, participation, incentives, and outputs. Furthermore, subsidiary standards stemming from these were also thoroughly evaluated.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs and CEO of Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, received the certificate from Mohannad Shahin, the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the Global Innovation Institute. Musabih emphasized that the attainment of the Certified Innovative Government Organization - Excellence Level serves as international recognition of Dubai Customs' leadership in global customs innovation. 

He added: “Dubai Customs has emerged as a model of innovation, guided and supported by its leadership team, fostering an environment conducive to continuous innovation and development. This is achieved through the implementation of systems and mechanisms encouraging active participation from all stakeholders, aiming to provide groundbreaking solutions, innovations, and new services that add value and satisfaction for all stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to facilitate customers in achieving the objectives of the Dubai government in governmental excellence, striving to offer the best government services globally and enhance Dubai's standing in global competitiveness and business facilitation.”

Dr. Hussam Juma, Director of the Service Innovation Department, underscored Dubai Customs' commitment to reaching the forefront of innovation. He expressed: “This commitment involves nurturing an innovative culture and elevating readiness across all sectors. Dubai Customs has established various innovation labs and platforms, alongside executing a range of events and marketing initiatives.
