Dubai Customs Soars to New Heights: Wins Best Communication Team Award and Amasses 45 Prestigious Accolades
Dubai Customs continues its path of excellence and achievement, as it recently celebrated a remarkable milestone in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, the Director General of Dubai Customs and CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation. During this event, Dubai Customs was honored with the Best Communication Team award, both at the local and Arab levels, as part of the 10th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award. Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department, presented this accolade to His Excellency the Director General in the presence of executive directors and department employees.
His Excellency, the Director General of Dubai Customs, commended this achievement and underlined the success of the Corporate Communication Department at Dubai Customs in establishing an interactive platform with both internal and external audiences. He emphasized their commitment to informing the public and service users about the department's pioneering smart achievements. He stated, "At Dubai Customs, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and creativity in our daily operations to elevate our performance, efficiency, and service quality to meet the highest global standards. Our aim is to fulfill the leadership's vision in enhancing Dubai's global influence in the realms of trade and tourism."
Khalil Saqer bin Gharib praised the collaborative efforts of the team in the Corporate Communication Department and its role in receiving numerous prestigious awards, spanning local, regional, and international recognition in corporate communication. Over the past few years, they have accumulated approximately 45 awards, including recognition such as the Best Environmental Excellence Award at the 14th Annual Global Corporate Social Responsibility Summit, the Golden Peacock Global Sustainability Award from the Institute of Directors in London, the International Excellence Award for the Best Marketing and Public Relations Team at the 2023 PR Week Global Awards in London, and the Best International Practices Award with a 6-star rating in the Environmental, Social, and Governance Excellence category from New Zealand. He emphasized that government communication has become a critical tool for implementing the vision and strategy of organizations. Government communication departments now play an expanded role, engaging with the community, strategic partners, clients, and leveraging modern digital platforms and social media to create opportunities for collaboration and impact, thereby contributing to the development process.
