Dubai Customs achieves 92% on client, partner and community happiness

Along with leadership, loyalty, innovation and empowerment, happiness is one of the top values and corporate objectives at Dubai Customs. The Government Department, a nod to more than 100 years of stellar services and creative approach, seeks hard to make all relevant stakeholders, partners and clients happier, and to provide a unique experience that go beyond the expectations.


Higher levels of happiness were recorded on Dubai Customs happiness indexes in 2021, with 92% for the partners, 91.8% for the clients and 92% for the community. 




Commenting on the International Happiness Day, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department said Dubai Customs has taken tangible steps to ensure happiness for the community at large following the wise leadership’s vision which expects to see Dubai as the happiest city worldwide.

“In 2021, Dubai Customs organized 126 initiatives that targeted 76,500 people from all segments of society. We have invested different resources to revolutionize the concept of social responsibility, and we came up with numerous initiatives that serve the society around us including raising awareness among students and the youth around the vital role customs plays in securing the borders and protecting the society. We have actively participated in different charitable and voluntary work during the Holy Month of Ramadan and through different occasion focused on promoting national identity. All of this helped us obtain a renewal for the ISO 26000 standard. In addition, we released our annual Sustainability Report in accordance with the highest world standards.” 

  Bin Gharib pointed out the Organization enhances partnership ties with stakeholders and build solid relationships with different partners, and towards this end, the Organization signed 6 MoU’s, and organized 108 benchmarks and 38 meetings with different entities. 



Along the same line, Edris Behzad, Director of Client Happiness Department said Dubai Customs ranked second on Dubai Government’s Client Happiness Index 2021 scoring 91.8%. 

He said; “Dubai Customs conducted a comprehensive development plan and developed the client happiness studies and secret shopper mechanisms. All the results are assessed and improved following the directives of the higher management. The quarterly Dubai Customs Consultative Council is a major initiative, serving as a link between the Government Department and its clients. In these meetings, we listen to the suggestions and ideas of the emirate’s business groups and study them carefully.”
