Dubai Customs honored winners and team works of its First Innovation League as part of the Department’s activities organized this year under the slogan “Al Furdah Innovates 2022” during the UAE Innovation Month 2022.
More than 600 customs challenges were identified and handled by 400 employees from 25 departments and 19 teams at Dubai Customs, who developed 406 ideas and creative concepts, including 171 major innovations.
“We are steadily moving ahead in creating the best workplace at the local and international levels using the best practices and tools in solving problems and overcoming challenges,” said H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation. “This outstanding performance has remarkably advanced our service and product offering, and it would not have been possible without your dedication and collective, creative work. Technological advancements and creative ideas stand firmly behind the advanced standing of the UAE on global indexes. We look forward to more achievements in support of the Projects of the 50 which was launched by our wise leadership to grow trade and increase exports.”
In the honoring ceremony, attendants watched a presentation by Hussain Al Fardan, Senior Manager of Innovation Center, on the stages of the first Innovation League, which was launched at the beginning of 2021.
Musabih was shown a number of in-house innovations including the Customs Inspection Drone, developed by the Innovation Center.
Director General of Dubai Customs honored the Inland Customs Centers Management team as the champions of the First Innovation League who created a radiological scanning inspection drone. The Aircargo Centers Management’s team came second for their AI based inspection drone, and the Passenger Operation Department – Terminal 2 team came third for their smart baggage-scanning device.
