Dubai Customs and CDA organize “Al Furdah Meeting” for senior citizens

Dubai Customs, represented by the Sports and Social Committee, organized “Al Furdah Meeting” with senior citizens as part of its social responsibilities and within its quest to please and cheer up senior citizens in the country. The event took place in cooperation with the Community Development Authority’s Thukher Social Club 


The event was held in the presence of HE Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, Saeed Al Tayer, CEO - Social Planning and Development Sector at CDA, Ali Shahdour, Media Consultant at CDA, and a number of executive directors from Dubai Customs. One of the highlights of the sports activities in the event was a friendly football match between senior citizens and Dubai Customs team. 







The event aimed at giving back to the elderly for their past role and contributions to the nation. A number of sports and entertainment activities were organized including swimming and cross fit. At the end of the event, Dubai Customs honored Thukher Social Club and distributed medals to the seniors. 








Director of Dubai Customs thanked the Community Development Authority for making the event a success and helping with integrating this segment into society following the wise vision of the national leadership. 

“It’s a duty and a commitment for us to take care of this segment and to give back to them for their significant contributions to the country since its foundation following the wise vision of our leadership towards a more consolidated society. Respecting the elderly and helping them is an inherent value in the UAE,” said Musabih. 






In his part, H.E. Ahmad Abdul Karim Julfar, Director General of the Community Development Authority; “These initiatives raise the morale of the elderly and encourage them to integrate with younger generations, which contributes to a more consolidated and coherent society. We are happy to have partnered with Dubai Customs on this social initiative to give the elderly our utmost support and encouragement.”


Along the same line, Yousef Ozair Mubarak said; “These events please and cheer up our senior citizens who represent a great value for us. This event was also an opportunity for us to listen to the senior citizens talking about the past and share their memories with us.”
