Dubai Customs distributes Meer Ramadan to 3,500 needy families in 5 years

April 22, 2021

During the last five years (2017-2021), 3,500 underprivileged families in the UAE benefited from Dubai Customs Ramadan initiatives, which included the distribution of Meer Ramadan (essential foodstuff and commodities regularly needed during the holy month of Ramadan) to needy families across the UAE.

As part of their corporate social responsibility, Dubai Customs engaged different segments of society to achieve a sustainable development through a number of initiatives and volunteer activities.
Providing these essential foodstuff and commodities to the families in need ahead of Ramadan will help them a lot in coping with the expenses during the Holy Month.

On the first day of Ramadan, Dubai Customs distributed Meer Ramadan to 1,000 families in cooperation with Tarahum Charity Foundation, while abiding by all safety precautions followed in the UAE.

A number of partners contributed to providing the foodstuff including National Trading and Developing Enterprises, and Naseem Al Barari General Trading, along with generous donations from Dubai Customs employees.

Meer Ramadan is an annual campaign that Dubai Customs launches to devote concepts of solidarity among members of the Emirati society.
