Dubai Customs celebrates Flag Day

Dubai Customs celebrated today the Flag Day today Tuesday, which is marked every year on 3rd November, with a flag raising ceremony at its headquarters to mark the anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's ascension to the UAE Presidency in 2004.



The flag-raising ceremony was led by Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs who hoisted the flag at 11am alongside a group of directors, managers, and employees. The ceremony started with raising the UAE Flag and singing the National Anthem, and all precautionary measures, including social distancing, were taken.




“UAE Flag Day is a chance to recognize the strength of the UAE, recognize the drive and aspiration of our leadership, and celebrate the solid bond of our nation. This is a historic day. Our hearts and souls become one under one glorious flag, which symbolizes our unity, progress and prosperity. Together, we mark the UAE Flag Day, which also coincides with the accession of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”

He added: 
 “It’s an occasion in which we recall all the bright stages in the development and prosperity of our nation. It’s an occasion to celebrate, innovate and work hard to meet the aspirations of the nation in its bold vision of becoming the best country in the world in conjunction with the UAE Centennial 2071 project while preparing wisely toward the UAE’s 5th anniversary next year.”

  

Flag Day is a national campaign, which falls on 3rd November every year, launched to commemorate the accession of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the nation. It is a day of celebration, reflecting a symbol of unity, patriotism and loyalty to the UAE and its wise leadership, and adherence to the values of the union established by the UAE’s Founding Fathers.
