Dubai Customs celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Dubai Customs celebrated the Breast Cancer Awareness Month which takes place in October every year. The event was attended by Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs and a number of executive directors, managers and employees.


It is an annually organized event that aims to raise awareness on breast cancer and to educate those concerned about the disease, including early identification and signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer.


Director General of Dubai Customs highly applauded the efforts of the Women's Committee at Dubai Customs in organizing events to raise awareness on breast cancer among the Department’s female employees as part of Dubai Customs’ CSR overall efforts.

 


Musabih pointed out that these awareness campaigns have targeted 2,000 female employees in the last five years in support of the UAE Vision 2021 which seeks the implementation of an advanced health system following the best international standards and practices.


The event included a number of functions such as writing inspirational statements to patients, weaving the pink ribbon, making full medical checkups including blood sugar and pressure, BMI, etc., and teaching female employees how to do breast self-exam.
