Dubai Customs Passenger Operations honored employees and entities that supported the “Health Endowment” initiative with their effective participation and engagement. The initiative was first inaugurated by Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai Customs Director on the 17th of May at Al Maktoum International Airport – Passengers Terminal.
During the honoring ceremony, Ahmed Abdulla bin Lahej, Director of Passenger Operations at Dubai Customs stated that, “The ‘Health Endowment’ initiative was well received by the public, reaching out for 11 thousand beneficiaries; including passengers, airport-based employees and Dubai Customs inspectors. It also witnessed the participation of 21 medical entities that provided a bundle of services, including free medical consultations and giveaways for participants.”
The initiative was initially introduced in the wake of recent launch by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, of the largest global social initiative for endowments in March 2016, and in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, for the government entities in Dubai to adopt the “Dubai Endowment Sign” as a differentiation criterion for selection of vendors in government contracts.
The initiative also included an awareness campaign about the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) “Waqf Sign”, encouraging participating entities to donate for charity and to take part in Endowment initiatives.
