
Dubai Customs attracted greater attention on the second day of the UAE Innovation Week, running from the 22nd to the 28th of November 2015. As part of the activities orchestrated to mark this week, Dubai Customs broadcasted its second episode of “UAE Innovation Week” program through Dubai FM radio. H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih delivered an opening statement, in which he expressed his pride and appreciation for all the progress scored in encouraging innovation and creativity during the ‘Year of Innovation’, announced by the Cabinet as per the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
Musabih also said, “The UAE Innovation Week, launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is the jewel of the crown of earlier initiatives launched by His Highness to stimulate innovation in the UAE, namely ‘The National Strategy of Innovation’, ‘Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation’, the recently-launched MBR Smart Majlis and ‘Afkari’ initiative for establishing a new government fund to support innovative ideas of federal government employees.”

Dubai Customs also concluded the preparation for launching its First Government Innovation Lab, on November 24th; an initiative launched by the Passenger Operations Department, which is expected to attract senior officials and dignitaries from various sectors to enrich and develop ideas and innovations.
Moreover, Dubai Customs presents a live TV show on Sama Dubai during the seven-day period of the UAE Innovation Week. The show, which is broadcasted from the Global Village, featured Hussain Al Fardan, Suggestion and Complaints Manager at Dubai Customs, in the first episode that aired on November 22nd.
A special treat is held for kids at Dubai Customs’ pavilion at KidZania, offering them a new and challenging experience of innovative activities.
