
Dubai Customs (DC) has won the Golden Peacock Global Award for Global Sustainability for the year 2015 for the second time in a row, further boosting its enviable corporate reputation in the process. The award was earned in recognition to DC’s effective contributions in the area of Global Sustainability and is a symbol of excellence and a mark of a world-class organization.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Secretary at the UAE Embassy in the UK, received this award on behalf of Dubai Customs, during the 15th London Global Convention on Corporate Governance & Sustainability and the Golden Peacock Awards Presentation Ceremony which was held recently at Hotel Millennium Mayfair, London - UK.
The trophy was presented by The Rt. Hon. Oliver Letwin, The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Honourable Cabinet Minister of UK, along with Lt. Gen. J. S. Ahluwalia, PVSM (Retd), President - Institute of Directors, India, and Hon. Alok Sharma, MP, Member of Parliament for Reading West, UK, and The Rt Hon The Earl of Shrewsbury, Talbot D.L.
The award was declared following a review of applications submitted from many global organizations where the decision was made by a jury under the Chairmanship of Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of India.

Dubai Customs has achieved stunning milestones in terms of compliance with sustainable practices while performing its trade facilitation and security enforcement responsibilities, and aims high towards a more sustainable future, in pursuance of UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 202, and the directives of the wise leadership to adopt sustainable, community-friendly policies and business strategies.

The international Golden Peacock award is organized annually since 1991 by The Institute of Directors, India, to encourage initiatives in promoting sustainable development and is regarded as a benchmark of Corporate Excellence worldwide.
