Mohammed bin Rashid visits Dubai Customs pavilion at GITEX, praises smart services

​Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has visited the Dubai Customs platform at the Dubai Smart Government pavilion at GITEX Technology Week 2015.

 

He was received by H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Chairman, Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), and H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs.

Sheikh Mohammed commended the level of smart services, applications, and technical and customs innovative initiatives, including the intelligent customs inspection system, amphibious vehicle, customs submarine, Smart TV services and smart workspace.

 
 
 

While at the customs platform, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed about services, smart applications and innovative technological initiatives being showcased by Dubai Customs.

He was also briefed on the amphibious vehicle, which is environment-friendly and has 10 sophisticated inspection gadgets, all solar-powered round-the-clock, and also equipped with the latest technologies in order to help the maritime customs inspectors deal with ships that dock at the Dubai Creek.

DC is keen to showcase its innovative services in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed to transform Dubai into world's smartest city within three years.

This year, Dubai Customs had two stands; one in the Dubai Smart Government Pavilion, and the other in the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation pavilion.
