The Consul General of Switzerland in Dubai Raymund Furrer has applauded the steadfast efforts of Dubai Customs in supporting economic growth and pushing tourism and trade numbers up. He also praised DC’s full commitment to implementing the free trade agreement between the GCC states and European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Furrer pinpointed that the measures undertaken by Dubai Customs in IPR protection are of special significance to Swiss businesses, considering the fine quality and huge popularity of Swiss products which make counterfeiters target them.
The statements of the Consul General of Switzerland, whose tenure in Dubai is coming to an end, were made during his visit to Dubai Customs. He was received by H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, and Faisal Eissa Lutfi, CEO of DC World, Director of External Relations at DC.

Through Irtibat, an initiative launched by Dubai Customs to nurture closer ties with foreign business communities based in the Emirate, business councils have their say in the development of customs procedures, making them more tailored to meet their business needs,” said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih.
Switzerland is one of Dubai’s strategic trade partners in Europe. The Dubai- Switzerland bilateral trade in H1 2015 mounted to AED 16 billion, with imports accounting for AED 9 billion, exports for AED 2 billion and re-exports for AED 5 billion.
