
Dubai Customs Training Center has concluded a specialized training course on plainclothes as an anti-narcotic technique. The course was presented in line with the collaboration and partnership between Dubai Customs and Dubai Police. The course took place on the 28th to the 30th of July 2015 over the span of 3 days, and was attended by 22 Customs inspectors.
Lieutenant Colonel, Khalid Ali bin Mowaizah from the General Department of Anti-Narcotics of Dubai Police headed the course, which tailored with the tri-partnership of Dubai Customs Training Center, Dubai Police Anti-Narcotics Department and Hemaya Center for International Training.
“As per Dubai Customs’ mandate to protect the society and sustain economic development through compliance and facilitation, Dubai Customs aligns its efforts – besides the utilization of the latest technologies – on training and better preparing its human cadres. Our aim is to further forge the skills and knowledge of customs inspectors to fortify ourselves against such illicit acts and to stand against today’s aggregated number of smuggling attempts and their cunning methods,” said Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration Affairs at Dubai Customs, Buti Abdullah Al Jumairi.
Al Jumairi further elaborated on DC’s training approach, “The 2015 training plan and our self-development programs had highly valued the need for even better honing the inspectors sense of security, and equal attention has been given to provide the suitable fertile grounds towards harnessing innovation for the good of society.”
Lt. Col. Bin Mowaizah hailed Dubai Customs inspectors, saying “ The group of inspectors I worked with, reflected an advanced security sense and professionalism.” He also added that “This course is facilitated to better equip recently joining inspectors and to cascade the updates and breakthroughs within the realm of plainclothes Customs law enforcement personnel, in order to be familiarized with this type of undercover inspection and the proper equipment needed for such operations.”
At the end of the program Lt. Col. Khalid Ali bin Mowaizah handed over certificates to the participants in the presence of Abdulla Al Arra , Dubai Customs Training and Development Section Manager, who on his part delivered the Dubai Customs shield to the instructor on behalf of Dubai Police.
