Dubai Customs claims 12 awards in H1 2015

​Dubai Customs has claimed a total of 12 local, regional and international awards during the first half of 2015, spanning all areas of Customs business including technology, performance excellence, suggestions and corporate social responsibility. These tokens of recognition from different awarding institutions worldwide simply acknowledge the leading role Dubai Customs serves in Customs work internationally and pay tribute to its top-notch level of services. 
These accolades add to a catalogue of successive achievements attained by DC across divers fields of activity, owing to the employees’ forward-looking perspective, unswerving organizational loyalty, as well as sincere efforts and dedication to constantly take work performance to the next level. 
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, expressed his pride and contentment at all the great accomplishments and awards achieved by DC, which have earned us recognition both nationwide and worldwide. “The wise leadership is always keen to impart the spirit of competition and creativity to Government work, in order to step up public services towards world-class excellence,” said Ahmed Mahboob. “This comes in line with the declaration to mark 2015 as the Year of Innovation, per the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the launch of the National Innovation Strategy by His Highness Sheilkh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” he added.  
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih further noted that “The numerous awards acquired by Dubai Customs over January-June period of this year 2015 cover all aspects of Customs work, which confirms our commitment and endeavours to adopt the world’s best practices to continue delivering the best of services to customers and employees. The ultimate goal is to make them happy and achieve higher satisfaction levels. In 2014, we had 91.2% satisfaction rate among our clients and 86% among our staff.”  

 

Customs Development and Capacity Building Area:
Enterprise Architecture Award 2015
Dubai Customs earned the coveted Enterprise Architecture Award 2015, presented by  Frost & Sullivan; a world leader in growth consulting and research based in San Francisco, USA. The award was presented to Dubai Customs to recognise its “Business Capability Management” initiative, developed by the Business Process and Enterprise Architecture at the Customs Development Division to upgrade corporate capability at DC.
 
 
 
Knowledge Management ME 2015 Excellence Award
Dubai Customs received Excellence Award from the Knowledge Management (KM) Middle East 2015 Conference, held in Dubai under the theme “Knowledge Management in Action: Best Practices, Emerging Ideas, and Time-Tested Techniques.” The event hosted an elite of international speakers, academics, leading knowledge management practitioners, as well as business and government leaders.
Organizational and Employee Excellence
Dubai Government Excellence Program 2015 
 Dubai Customs confirmed its leadership in areas of innovation and corporate excellence by bagging four Awards at the 18th cycle of Dubai Government Excellence Program 2015. The winners were Siddiqa Yaqoub, for distinguished field employee category, Ahmed Saleh Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, creator employee category, Maryam Salem Darwish Al Qubaisi, for administrative excellence category, and Ahmed Salem Abdullah Afif, for the unknown soldier category.
 
 
 
International Standard for Service Excellence (TISSE)
The British Standards Institution (BSI), the UK's first national standards body, awarded Dubai Customs The International Standard for Service Excellence (TISSE), after completing the audit carried out for its processes, policies, services, employees and operational performance. Dubai Customs is the first Customs administration worldwide to acquire such international accreditation.
Innovation
Ideas Arabia Awards 2015
Dubai Customs was crowned top in terms of innovation and creativity in 2015, scooping three main accolades at the Ideas Arabia 10th International Conference & Competition 2015 in Dubai. Idea of the Year Award 2015 went to Dubai Customs for its Smart Customs Audit System 2015; the first-of-its-kind in the world which fulfils the criteria and prerequisites of the WCO and can be cascaded into similar contexts whether in Customs administrations or elsewhere worldwide, in addition to Best Suggestion Model and Best Suggestion Programme Administrator awards.
 
 
Corporate Social Responsibility
Best Workplace Practices Silver Award 2015
Dubai Customs claimed the Silver Award for the Best Workplace Practices in the 7th Annual Global CSR Summit and Awards, held in 2015 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This prestigious award recognizes companies for outstanding, innovative and world class products, services, projects and programmes implemented annually. There were overall 200 submissions for various categories of the award from all over the world.
 
 
 
Princess Haya Award for Special Education 2015
Dubai Customs won the award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility – Public Sector from the Princess Haya Award for Special Education (PHASE) in its fifth cycle, under the patronage of Her Highness, Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The biennial award recognizes and motivates individuals and organizations who have dedicated their lives to support people with special needs. It also seeks to promote innovation and excellence in this domain.
Golden Globe Tigers Award 2015
Dubai Customs was the winner of the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practices Award for the year 2015, organized under the Golden Globe Tigers Awards, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The award aims to recognise CSR, social innovation and education & academic excellence.
