Dubai Customs and DC World receive high-level Turkmenistan Customs delegation

Dubai Customs has received a high-level delegation from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, headed by His Excellency Minister Hojamkuliyev Annamuhammet, chief officer of Turkmenistan Customs, to explore and share DC’s experience in passenger customs operations development.  

 

Welcoming the delegation at DXB Airport were H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, who took the delegation in a tour around DC’s Passenger Operations Department (Terminal 3).

 

The Turkmen delegation also included Yegenmyradov Myrat, Senior Official at Automatic Equipment & Luggage Department, State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. Faisal Eissa Lutfi, Executive Director of DC World and External Relations Director at DC, Ibrahim Kamali, Senior Manager of Passenger Operations - Airport Terminal 3, and Falah Al Samak, Senior Manager of Passenger Operations - Airport Terminal 2.

 

 
 

 

The delegation was briefed on the work processes at Terminal 3 Passenger Operations during the tour which included the Command & Control Room and the Internal Devices Section. They were introduced to Dubai Customs state-of-the-art customs systems, such as Mirsal2 and Risk Engine.

 

Al Kashif vehicle was specially praised by the delegation for helping to carry out more efficient inspection procedures, being fully geared up with 16 high-tech inspection and detection devices, each of which designated for certain types of contraband.

 

 

 
 

 

His Excellency Hojamkuliyev Annamuhammet expressed great interest in utilizing the technologies they have come to know about during this visit. “Dubai Customs really has got some of the world’s best customs practices which we will take with us back home to enhance our own customs operations,” he said.
H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said, “The experience of UAE in general and Dubai in particular has become globally acclaimed with respect to sustainable economic development. Nations around the world seek to learn from our accumulated expertise and ongoing advancement being propelled by the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021.”

 

 

 

 

 

On the other hand, H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih noted: “Dubai Customs offers traders and investors from Turkmenistan top-notch customs facilitations to boost bilateral trade. In 2014, Dubai- Turkmenistan trade scored AED 2.4 billion, while in Q1 2015 it amounted to AED 445 million.”

 

The Director of Dubai Customs further added that the growing trend in the tow-way commerce between Dubai and Turkmenistan was being significantly supported  by DC’s Irtibat initiative which seeks to improve customs cooperation and communication with the Turkmen diplomatic corps and business community based in the UAE.
