Dubai Customs yesterday 25th of May hosted the UAE President’s Cup 2015 in support of the country’s premier professional football tournament.
The initiative of hosting the original trophy of President’s Cup, currently on tour across selected sites in the UAE, came as a suggestion from a DC female employee to show support to the Trophy Tour and to the UAE football league and its players in general.
“The President’s Cup has bagged our attention ever since the kick-off of the tournament in 1974. This Trophy deserves our admiration and full support as it brings out the best in its players, upholds the spirit of sportsmanship and athleticism, and unites the entire country around its favourite sport,” said H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs.
Yousuf Ozair, Head of Social & Sports Committee at Dubai Customs, expressed appreciation to the UAE Football Association for accepting the DC’s invitation to join in the President’s Cup’s trophy tour and contribute in introducing the public to the UAE’s prestigious football championship, bringing excitement and inspiration to the nation’s football fans.
DC employees at the headquarters were invited to come over and appreciate the Winner’s Cup and take some souvenir photographs.
