Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (may Allah protect him) in relation to the promotion of cooperation among all the government departments for serving and making people happy and developing the human resources at the government departments, we honorably signed this MOU with DJI that has a great experience and leadership in the field of law. This MOU reflects the government cooperation between DC and DJI that inures to the benefit of both sides including their respective staffs.
“I would to thank HE Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, Director General of Dubai Judicial Institute and the officers of DJI for their support and cooperation provided for implementing the Customs Investigation Diploma for DC’s staff to the extent that their lawful knowledge will be enhanced and this will help DC to be the international leading customs department that supports legitimate trade and to achieve DC’s mission represented in protecting the community and strengthening the economic development through compliance and facilitation. This will eventually inure to the benefit of the UAE, in general, and Dubai, in particular, and will boost its competitiveness worldwide.
I would like also to congratulate DC’s first and second classes graduates of Customs Investigation Diploma,” Musabih added.
HE Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, Director General of Dubai Judicial Institute said, “It is our pleasure to sign this MOU with Dubai Customs, and we would like to exploit this opportunity to praise its great efforts exerted for protecting the UAE community and supporting the economy. We highly appreciate DC’s confidence in DJI to implement such educational training course. We also believe that the MOU will boost the concept of cooperation and teamwork. DC and DJI seek to maximize the efficiency of human resources, particularly those working in the field of customs investigation. This is attributable to the great efforts exerted by Dubai Customs that plays a basic role in protecting the UAE through controlling the ports of Dubai.
“Employees need lawful knowledge and awareness that enable them to handle the customs cases so as to protect their rights as well as the rights of DC and related parties. We hope that the employee’s performance will be enhanced through our agreement and the training courses to the extent that the role to be played by DC will be boosted. DJI, in coordination with DC, developed the contents of training course related to “Customs Investigation Diploma” which was customized for DC’s staff in appropriateness with the nature of their work and DC’s activities. It is worth noting that judges and prosecutors lectured such course that included a practical training and a presentation for actual customs cases and procedures that were factually taken. DC’s experts, as daily practitioners of this activity, greatly contributed in building the course. Eventually, I would like to reaffirm that the Government of Dubai is keen to promote the efficiency of its employees working for all the government departments,” Al Sumaiti added.
