Dubai Customs celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work

Dubai Customs has celebrated the World Day for Safety and Health at Work – observed on the 28th of April every year - by holding a series of activities at its Port Rashid Headquarter premises. Buti Al Jumairi, Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration Affairs Division , Ahmed Al Falasi, Administration Affairs Director, and Maitha Khalaf, Corporate Support Office Director, besides a host of officials and representatives from the Ministry of Labour, Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and DC employees attended the celebration.
“We at Dubai Customs have always held our cadre as the key pillar of the Department’s success and course of work along the years, who are the true drives behind each and every achievement we have scored. In return, we are dedicating the utmost of attentiveness and caring in order to maintain their wellbeing and safety at the work place,” Buti Al Jumairi marking this day. He further noted: “Today, we share the same concerns with international community in order to bring forward the issue of health and safety and to showcase our breakthroughs in this field, while we adhere to the globally-recognized standards and best practices of this field.”

  

Commenting on DC’s marking of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2015 under the slogan “Join in Building a Culture of Prevention on OSH”, Maitha Khalaf, Director of Corporate Support Office, said, “Marking this day is in line with Dubai Customs’ commitment to ensuring a healthy and secure work environment. Dubai Customs pays utmost attention to implementing high-end OSH standards while carrying out everyday jobs at all locations, to ensure the safety of both employees and customers.”
Dubai Customs’ celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work included a number of awareness activities and workshops, presented in Arabic and English. Wahid Al Mulla from Dubai Customs’ Technical Support Department delivered a thorough presentation on the Safe Customs Inspector; a recent innovation by Dubai Customs to ensure the safety of inspectors.
At the end of the ceremony, Buti Al Jumairi presented trophies to Dubai Customs’ guests and wished all attendees health and safety at work.
