Dubai Customs bagged in four Awards at the 18th cycle of Dubai Government Excellence Program 2015. Four DC awardees’ were directly honoured by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, and with the auspicious presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler.

The winners, Siddiqa Yaqoub, for distinguished field employee category, Ahmed Saleh Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, creator employee category, Maryam Salem Darwish Al Qubaisi, for administrative excellence category, and Ahmed Salem Abdullah Afif, for the unknown soldier category; received warm congratulations from H.E Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and H.E Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai Customs Director and Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence.
H.E Sultan bin Sulayem reaffirmed that DC employees’ creations and innovations have drastically helped in leveraging the department’s status in local, regional and international levels due to its unique working environment conducive to innovation.
“Dubai Customs’ winning of this bundle of awards reflects the department’s rooted commitment to the vision and directives of innovation and creativity as envisaged by H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness’s relentless support for institutional innovation and creativity by all means and strategies possible in order to achieve number (1) in all fields; which is considered as the main catalyst for transforming Dubai into a world class destination as a pioneering government ,” Bin Sulayem further added.

On his part, H.E Ahmed Mahboob Musabih acknowledged the awardees’ efforts and said: “The DGEP Awards stand as the unmatchable pearl of all the local, regional and international awards that we claimed so far during the year 2014 and the first quarter of 2015, collectively exceeding 30 awards in societal, administrative and customs fields. Whereas, the DGEP Awards stand as a real motivation for us to exert even more efforts in the nearby future, taking the UAE and Dubai in particular towards the forefront of all international arenas.”
Ahmed Kazim also extended his greetings and admiration to the winners, saying: “Dubai Customs embrace these Awards with sheer pride; being the jewel of the crown for our long history of accoladed accomplishments and merited awards.”
Dubai Customs was shortlisted in 12 categories out of 16 nominations, and then assumed its rank amongst the first three leading agencies. It qualified for 6 categories of the DGEP for this year, namely creator employees, distinguished field employee, distinguished female employee, administrative excellence , the unknown soldier category and the joint government project category (the renovation of the northern runway of DXB).
