Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid visits Dubai Customs stand at the Career Fair

Dubai Customs continues its successful participation for the third and final day (tomorrow April 24th) at the Career Fair 2014, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DWTC).
 
HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum yesterday visited Dubai Customs stand at the Career Fair 2014 held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DWTC). HE Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, briefed HH Sheikh Mansour about DC’s HR plans and how they conform to the government’s Emiratization agenda as well as the nature of job vacancies made available by Dubai Customs for fair visitors.
 
Dubai Customs Director reaffirmed DC’s pride of the qualified human resources whom are regarded as the key driving force for excellence and leadership. He added that DC pays utmost attention to attracting national cadres to various specializations within Customs. The Emiratization percentage at Dubai Customs remains the highest amongst government departments at 84%. The rate of nationals working in the inspection unit, which constitutes 47% of the 3000 employees working for DC, amounts to 100%.
 
HE Ahmed Mahboob stated that the Dubai Customs recruitment strategy is focused on attracting national cadres. At this year’s fair various positions for nationals in many fields were available in order to increase the number of national employees across the department in all sectors. In efforts to promote performance and raise the standards of work Dubai Customs sets annual training plans for new hires, which allows new hires to flourish in their respective field.
 
Furthermore, Dubai Customs presented a total of 150 vacancies within various fields such as media, HR, inspection, finance, audit and more. The Emiratization percentage at Dubai Customs remains the highest amongst government departments at 84%. The rate of nationals working in the inspection unit amounts to 100%, which places Dubai Customs first at nationalization. Dubai Customs plans to increase its Emiratization rate through its participation at such events.
 
Both of the Dubai Customs stands received a vast number of applicants. The applicants were greeted by human resource officials upon arrival, and were given the psychometric test which revealed their best career characteristics. After the test and the personalized analysis, applicants were given I-Pads to submit their applications online, along with two customized giveaways with HR’s contact information in order to follow up on the status of their applications.
 
Dubai Customs consistently takes part in career fairs. These events are a great channel for entities to meet a massive number of national job seekers. They also provide greater opportunities for UAE nationals to come in contact with the concerned people. DC looks forward to such events to meet young and motivated people who are ready to work, in a bid to help these individuals to start their career. Part of DC’s strategy is  geared towards attracting national cadres to various specializations within Customs. Dubai Customs sets annual training plans for new hires in order to promote their performance and raise the standards of work which ultimately contributes to the success of the Dubai Customs as a whole.​
