Dubai Customs is among the first government departments to adopt the unified customers and employees’ suggestion system of Dubai Government as suggestions were incorporated within the employees’ key performance indicators at the Department on which their performance is assessed in line with the UAE’s vision as a whole and the strategy of Dubai Government particularly.
Dubai Customs managed to generate profits which exceeded AED 108 million from the implementation of the suggestion system from 2004 up to end of 2011. This figure does not include accumulated revenues from the suggestions; it is rather the revenues of the first year for implementing each suggestion.
It is worth noting that Dubai Customs earned the Platinum Accreditation from Ideas UK two years in a row for the efficiency of its suggestion system, being the first government department to ever receive this international standard.
