Dubai Customs Showcases its Foreign Relations Experience to Emirates Post Group

Dubai Customs received a delegation from Emirates Post Group, to let them in on the Department’s efforts in promoting external relationships with all regional and international customs entities and administrations, and adopting best practices to support constant communication with commercial attachés in UAE’s official foreign embassies and consulates.
The delegation was received by Mr. Abbas Makki, Director of External Relations; Ms. Khadijah Al Rais, Senior Information & International Standards Officer; and Eissa Al Huraiz, Administrative Assistant. While the Emirates Post delegation included Ms. Somaya Mohammed Hasan, Director of International Relations; Mr. Khalid Jassim Al Doukhy, International Relations Officer, and Mr. Saeed Salim Salmin, International Relations Executive.
Dubai Customs’ External Relations Department delivered a presentation of the Department’s working mechanism and its efforts in developing and promoting relations with different parties on the local, regional and international levels, as well as implementing the best practices in this field in order to attain optimum performance levels in Customs work, all to the final end of securing high-quality achievements in serving Dubai economy and the national economy in general.
“We, in Dubai Customs, are always keen on maintaining interactive relationships with all UAE institutions, in order to showcase Dubai Customs’ external relations development experience, which effectively contributes to the Department’s performance of its duties; including the undertaking of its role as the first line of protection for the community’s safety, health and security, together with its efforts in facilitating legitimate trade in order to enhance economic growth, through cooperation and coordination with all customs departments and authorities around the world” said Mr. Makki “We also do our best to remove any obstacles that might come in the way of the development of trade in Dubai, and contribute to serving customs operations internationally by means of participating in the forming and development of customs affairs’ regulating international conventions.”
“This form of cooperation and coordination with Emirates Post Group’s International Relations Department comes in lines with the efforts exerted to improve performance” added Mr. Makki “Dubai Customs carries out inspection and customs clearance activities for parcels sent via Emirates Post network. During the visit, we stressed the importance of cooperation between the two organizations in the area of international relations, that is to ensure best results are achieved across the two organizations’ joint activities.”
