Dubai Customs hosted on Monday January 21, 2013 the second mass wedding for the Department’s employees. During the ceremony, held at the Sheikh Saeed Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre, 30 grooms were celebrated in the presence of HE Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation, and HE Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Executive Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Dubai Customs Director General.


Khalil Saqr, Director of the Corporate Communication Department and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that the mass wedding event, organized by the Department for the second year in a row, follows the steps of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, to support young people getting married and facilitate their marriages, and in compliance with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in reducing unnecessary ceremony expenses and curbing extravagancies and excessive wedding costs which burden the bride and the groom.
