Under the patronage and presence of Her Highness Sheikha Rawda bint Ahmad bin Jumma Al Maktoum, consort of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, and her daughter Sheikha Hissa bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 150 brides from different government departments tied the knot in a festive mass wedding on Monday, 14 May 2018 in Dubai World Trade Center.

The brides and bridegrooms were from Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, RTA, Dubai Health Authority, and DEWA.
Sheikha Rawda congratulated the brides and wished them a happy successful life affirming the fundamental role families play in building societies and maintaining its cohesion and balance. The initiative comes in line with the “Year of Zayed”.
She pointed out that mass weddings come as part of the country's policy to create a happy and advanced society with high standards of living, well-being, solidarity and cooperation within the fabric of the community.
On her part, Nadia Gharib Al Basti, Head of Dubai Mass Wedding Committee thanked Her Highness Shaikha Rawda for her continual support to mass wedding initiatives in embodiment of the vision of the wise leadership in the UAE”.
