Dubai Customs’ Service Innovation Department organized a lecture entitled “Role of Dubai Customs in Facilitating Trade and Operations of Supply Chain” in the British University in Dubai. The lecture was attended by a number of master degree students at Engineering College and a team of professors and academic researchers including Dr Bassam Abu Hijla, Dean of IT and Engineering College, and Dr Alaa Amir, Head of Engineering Master Program.
Omar Al Qariouti, Head of Innovation Team and Wahid Ko, Customs Expert from the Service Innovation Department talked about Dubai Customs’ leading role in facilitating Dubai’s trade being a regional and international trade hub. They also showcased a number of Dubai Customs’ innovations in services.
Hussam Juma, Director, Business Innovation Department in Dubai Customs reaffirmed the importance of cooperation between Dubai Customs and universities and research centers which leads to develop researches and exchange knowledge in trade and customs. This helps materialize Dubai Customs’ vision of becoming the world leading customs department supporting legitimate trade, he said.
Juma pointed out the lecture is part of a partnership agreement signed between Dubai Customs and the British University in Dubai to help benefit from theoretical academic knowledge and realistic scenarios.
At the end of the lecture Dr Bassam honoured Dubai Customs lecturers and thanked them for raising levels of cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
