Director of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih held a meeting at his office with His Excellency Lutfi bin Amer, Consul-General of Tunisia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The two discussed means of boosting cooperation between Tunisia and Dubai especially in bilateral trade and customs business.
“It’s very important for us to boost ties of partnership with brotherly Tunisian diplomatic missions and business councils and corporates. We have priorities which include delivering a leading customs expertise to the world following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai” said Musabih. “Tunisia is an important trade partner to Dubai. The total value of mutual non-oil trade in the first nine months in 2017 amassed AED 893m, and in 2016 it crossed the billion line to reach AED 1.28b”.
He added that cooperation with diplomatic missions and business councils is gaining more attention and weight with the UAE preparing to host the renowned Expo 2020.
On his part, His Excellency His Excellency Lutfi bin Amer, Consul-General of Tunisia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates applauded Dubai Customs’ efforts in supporting national economy and developing tourism and trade stating that Dubai is a world class trade and tourism hub and a central link between the east and west. The meeting was attended by Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department.
