Director of Dubai Customs Ahmed Mahboob Musabih inaugurated the Year of Zayed Exhibition at the Carpet & Art Oasis 2018. The Exhibition aims at shedding light on the great historical role of the late Sheikh Zayed in founding the UAE, developing it and supporting humanitarian causes and values.
The Year of Zayed Exhibition within the Carpet and Art Oasis continue up until the end of the Oasis on 15th January at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Sheikh Saeed Hall.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih and senior guests toured the sections of Year of Zayed Exhibition after unveiling Year of Zayed’s Carpet and inaugurating “Zayed: A Humanitarian Symbol” Corner. The Corner included historical photos that highlighted the role of Sheikh Zayed in serving humanity and values of tolerance, selflessness and peace. Another corner shed light on the UAE history and the stages of its development from relative obscurity in global affairs to become one of the wealthiest and most dynamic countries of the world.
The toured covered the fine art section which features a mural that portrays the Founding Father of the UAE as part of Carpet and Art Oasis 2018. The Library of Zayed was also inaugurated. Visitors viewed the Arabic and foreign books in the library which talked about Sheikh Zayed’s personality. Another section called “Kids’ Corner” will help the new generation learn about Sheikh Zayed’s great achievements.
A documentary was displayed during the inauguration event and a discussion session titled (Zayed: From Challenge to Union) was held.
As part of government interdepartmental partnership, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority participated in the Year of Zayed events organized by Dubai Customs within this year’s edition of Carpet and Art Oasis.
Musabih awarded and honoured Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the participants of the discussion session and the artists working on the mural.
“The Year of Zayed is an occasion to remember the great deeds of the Founding Father in building and serving the nation,” said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih. “The solid foundation that Sheikh Zayed built has helped us to go on an equal footing with the modern world”.
