Dubai Customs started the new year; Year of Zayed 2018 with the launch of “A Touch of Giving” agreement signed with Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation.
The agreement is part of Dubai Customs’ efforts to support and guide minors in their academic and career future based on the foundations laid by the late Sheikh Zayed. It was signed today Tuesday 2nd January at Dubai Customs main offices by Dr Shaikha Al Ghafiri, Director of Dubai Customs' Training Centre and Ahmed Hassan Nasir, Director of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation.
The initiative which reflects and symbolizes the humanitarian legacy of Zayed, will provide 17 minors with career guidance to help them choose their best academic and career path. They were assessed by the Dubai Customs HR evaluation center and given advice accordingly.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs said: “We chose the very first working day in 2018 to launch this initiative to emphasize the importance of giving as an inherent Emirati value. Qualifying and enabling minors is a strategic priority within our plans following the directives of our wise leadership”.
On her part, Dr Shaikha Al Ghafiri pointed out the evaluation center assessed the minors and based on that held individual feedback sessions for each of them to help them pursue their future in a better way.
Ahmed Hassan Nasir expressed pride and happiness on behalf of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation for actively involving in these initiatives.
“We are proud to have signed this agreement on the first working day of Year of Zayed in support of the UAE’s efforts to preserve Zayed’s legacy of giving and selflessness”.
